Michelin Facts

Michelin is unarguably the world's largest and most decorated tire manufacturers. The company manufactures premium quality tires for cars, SUVs, bikes, trucks, buses, as well as other components. and is renowned for their superb grip, which improves safety.

Founded in 1898, Clermont-Ferrand, France by brothers Andre and Edouard Michelin, the Michelin brand has become a global household name, instantly recognizable by their iconic logo the "Michelin Man" depicting a man made of tires.

The Michelin Man was voted as the “Best Symbol of All Time” by a worldwide panel for the Financial Times. It is the largest tire manufacturer in the world followed by Bridgestone, Goodyear, and Continental. The company also owns the Kléber tires company, Uniroyal-Goodrich Tyre Company, SASCAR, Bookatable, and Camso brands.

Michelin offers over 3500 product variants. Some of their most popular tires include the Michelin Pilot Sport tires, a type of high-performance tires fitted on luxury cars like Porsche and Ferrari, and the Michelin Energy Saver tires - eco-friendly tires, suitable for day-to-day driving for city cars

Over a century after its first tires were rolled out to the public, Innovation remains the secret behind Michelin’s success.

At Michelin, the common belief is that racing is the greatest test for the tire, no wonder the brand has maintained consistent performance in all competitions and remains the Tyre of choice for winning teams at Le Mans and the WRC, achieving 15 consecutive victories at Le Mans.

They are also the tire of choice for UK Race Series Porsche Carrera Cup, GT3 Cup, and Ginetta GT Supercup. These competitions enable Michelin to transfer technologies used and tested in racing onto their road tires.
